Led by Dr. Shareef Syed (UCSF), Dr. Garrett Roll (UCSF) and Dr. María Amalia Matamoros Ramírez (Hospital México) these teams focus on the care optimization and quality improvement of liver transplant patients. Multidisciplinary teams at each center, comprised of many specialties, including surgery, hepatology, pathology, pharmacy and nursing seek to tackle these pressing issues.


PTC Liaison Officers

Dr. Shareef Syed is an Assistant Professor of Surgery within the Division of Transplant Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco and is one of UCSF's Paired Transplant Centers (PTC) liaison officers. 


Garrett R. Roll, M.D., FACS

Dr. Garrett Roll serves as co-PTC liaison officer at UCSF and is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery within the Division of Transplant Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.


 

Dr. María Amalia Matamoros Ramírez currently serves as the Clinical Director of Liver Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery at the Hospital México in San José, Costa Rica and is her center's PTC liaison officer. Under her leadership, Hospital México has the highest volume of solid organ transplants in Costa Rica.
